So I decided I would blog about my last 20 years if anyone really wants to know what I have been up to since high school....

The day after highschool graduation I went on a month-long tour of France and a few surrounding countries. It was a really great experience and I still dream of going back someday.

That fall I started at Ricks College where I had WAY too much fun and made a lot of life-long friends. I graduated with a business degree in Fashion Merchandizing, which has not been too terribly helpful, but the business part of the degree has been more useful.

While at Ricks I also got me some BIG HAIR!

After I had been at Ricks for about a month my parents called and told me they were going on a mission and selling our home. They had bought a condo but it was unfinished while they were gone. This left me with nowhere to live so they got permission for me to spend the summer with them in Upstate New York (at the Peter Whitmer Farm). While I was there they needed an extra sister missionary between transfers because they had an odd number of sisters. I was able to spend six weeks on a "mini mission" and got a very good feel for mission life. The mission president put me with the hardest working sister in the entire mission!

Also while in New York my parents introduced me to their favorite missionary...Elder JT!

His mission ended the month after I got back to Ricks and he grew up five minutes from Rexburg...talk about convenient! We started dating when he got home.

We dated for three years and then got married...

and sealed...

We spent six years working, playing, getting JT through school at U of U, lived in Salt Lake valley and Logan. I had many jobs, working as an assistent manager at a clothing store in the mall (great use of my college degree!), working for an airline in reservations, customer service for a credit card company, office manager for the LDS church in facilities maintenance, etc. Also spent those years dealing with infertility issues. It was a blessing when we were able to have Bri...

The week before Bri had her first birthday my mom passed away. She had suffered with rheumatoid arthritis my entire life.

I have enjoyed being a wife....

And a mother.....

After we had Bri we wanted to add more children to our family but after seven surgeries to try to correct my infertility problems, and eight years of trying, I finally ended up having a hysterectomy two years ago. We feel very blessed for the family that we have, even though we are small in number.
We now are settled into our daily routines. JT is a medical sales rep in the Northern Utah area. I work from home doing medical transcriptions. My other job is my calling in the Church as the relief society president. It is a wonderful calling which I really enjoy. JT is serving in the primary and as ward family history consultant. Bri is starting 5th grade this fall and is such a blessing in our lives.
Sorry this was such a long post...20 years has flown by and I really don't feel any older, just much more life experience and CONFIDENCE that I wish I had had back in high school.

What a great life!!! And as for the confidence wish, you and me baby; you and me! :)
Wow...I learned a lot about you from reading your post! I think we all feel the same way about growing up and gaining more confidence. It just comes from learning life's lessons and accepting who you are!
When are you going to bring back the big hair? I miss it very much.
I love the hairdo LonaMae! I think that you should be the one to bring it back!! Congratulations on the 20 year high school reunion!
