A visit for a visit...

A few weeks ago my dad called and wanted me to e-mail this guy for him. He had read an article in the Heber City newspaper that talked about a man named John Hanks who is looking for stories about his great uncle Cory Hanks. Dad doesn't have e-mail any more so I sent it for him. Within three minutes of sending the e-mail Mr. Hanks called me and asked to meet with us and record Dad's stories about Cory Hanks.

Dad worked for Cory when he was 16 years old. Cory was in a mining accident in 1903 and lost both of his hands and was blinded. Dad was his driver for two years and took him to speaking arrangements around the country.

Bri and I went down and spent the night with Dad and Elaine (because he likes me best) and on Wednesday morning Mr. John Hanks came and met with Dad. It was fun hearing the stories Dad tells being recorded and seeing him interviewed by Mr. Hanks. Here is the link to the blog about his research on Cory Hanks, he mentions dad and made a special trip from Las Vegas to meet with us. http://upfromthehillsmovie.blogspot.com/.

After the interview we visited some more with Dad and Elaine and went to lunch at McDonalds...would you expect anything less? (They have lunch at McDonalds EVERY DAY!)

What a fun experience! It's nice that you were able to share this with your dad. I can't wait to read more about him on the blog - he sounds like an amazing man!
