Murder and Mayhem

This made me smile!

Bowling with Keekin

We had fun bowling with Keekin.  She and Bri always have so much fun together.  What a better way to spend the holiday break than hanging out and playing!
But...apparently no event is complete without a gaping head wound!  Keekin spent the night and thrashed around and hit her head on who-knows-what.  When I woke up the next morning I was informed of the incident.  A quick call to her mom and a trip to the doctors office, it would have needed stitches but had been too long...
(hi, my name is LM and I break babies...)

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas.  It was very relaxing.  We always have fun spending time together and not doing much of anything at all...can doing nothing be a "tradition"?
This year we invited the missionaries to our home to make their phone calls home.  It was fun seeing them come in with huge smiles on their faces after getting some time to talk with their families.  It made our Christmas extra special to spend some time with these hard working Elders.

Christmas Eve

How do you wrap a hippopotamus? VERY CAREFULLY! We totally had her stumped, she couldn't guess what this gift was!
Apparently I cannot stay awake during a movie...even if it is Christmas Eve!  Bri had my camera and had fun snapping pics of me.  To be fair, I woke up after the movie was over and was up for the rest of the evening.

Christmas Crafts

I have a stack of book "innerds" that I am left with after making my book purses.  I have been wanting to do some crafts with the cool old pages...this is my first one, it is supposed to be a Christmas tree, but isn't quite the right shape, but I like it anyway.
I saw a craft blog that posted these cool pointy trees...they were a must for my table centerpiece.  I love them!

Dance recital

Bri had another dance recital for Christmas.  She did a good job, and had a lot of fun with her cousins.  She really loves her dance class and I love the confidence it gives her.

Head Shots

Bri got her head shots back for her musical theater class.  They turned out so good.  She is beautiful!

Finally!

I have been working for months getting things ready to post on Etsy and officially open my shop.  I finally took that big step and got it all done.  Hopefully things will interest people and it will be worth my time and effort!

Stop by and take a look!  http://jolocrafts.etsy.com

Excited for Halloween!

I was very excited to be able to make another costume for Bri.  Last year we had proclaimed it the last year for trick-or-treating, but this year she wanted a costume for a costume party and to "scare" the trick-or-treaters!  She has never been anything creepy, but this year we went with a ballerina zombie!  She had a lot of fun at her costume party last night...creepy little girlie....

Tzeitel...

Bri is in a musical theater class, which is basically the cast of the school play next spring.  She has been learning about auditioning and then had to do auditions last week.  They had to do a monologue and a solo song.  She practiced very hard and was confident going to auditions, which were in front of her class of 100+ students.  They are casting two full casts and they will learn two parts, each will perform every other night.  On Thursday she found out that she got the part of Tzeitel, one of the main parts in the play "Fiddler on the Roof".  She is one of only a few 7th graders to get a main part.  We are so very proud of her and she is excited for the play in February. (She also has an ensemble part in the alternate cast).

I caught a fish!

Last weekend we had a fun day fishing at Little Creek Reservoir.  It is basically a large mud puddle south of Bear Lake.  JT and Bri had really good luck, and even I caught a fish!

Crazy hair?

It is Crazy Hair day at Bri's school...I think she just looks cute!  All she needs is a perm!  We were going to do a ponytail mohawk, but I told her I could give her my big hair and she was super excited.  Today she is auditioning for the school play...I hope the judges don't get distracted by her hair!

Back to school

SEVENTH GRADE!!!!
(what happened to my tiny baby!)
Oh, there she is!! (I was just talking to my cousin Judy about my mom and how she love to hold babies.  This is one of my favorite shots of Breezy and my mom.)

Music recital

Bri has been taking music lessons for several years.  She plays the piano and takes voice lessons.  I promised her that I would not post any video of her, but the pictures are too cute to pass up!

One last hurrah

We wanted to get in a camping trip before the end of the summer.  We went to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National park.   We went to the same place last summer and had a blast, so we decided to go again.  While there we: rode our bikes along the Teton mountain range, went horseback riding, saw a bear in the wild for the first time, got rained on and found out that our tent is NOT waterproof (it now lives at D.I.), went to a few places in Yellowstone that we have never stopped at before, left the jackets we brought with us in our tent and had to buy new hoodies because it was so cold, took Yeager camping for more than one night...and he was a very good dog. Yeager got to go spend a day at a "pet resort" so we could do some activities without him, but I don't think it was all that glamorous!  We love spending time together as a family, and we have decided to make this a yearly destination, it is beautiful there!

Colorado Cousins

This past weekend we got to have house guests.  My sis-in-law and her kids came for a visit from Colorado.  JT's brother had to head back early because of work and we missed him.  We had fun hanging out at home and also a fun day at Lagoon.
Kyson wanted to get wet and every ride we went on he just got a few splashes.  This is his look of great disappointment!
Bri has mastered the art of the blood-curdling scream.  This is her screaming while we were riding the FERRIS WHEEL! (scary...)
I have to share how proud I am of my daughter.  A few years ago she got it in her head that she didn't like roller coasters.  She would try a few but then put her foot down and wouldn't ride any of the big rides at Lagoon.  This made me not want to take her there, so it has been three years since we have really even been to Lagoon.  This year I told her I would like her to try a few and see if her feelings have changed.  She resisted for most of the day, but in the end I told her that I would go on some "hurley" rides with her if she would go on some roller coasters with me.  She got up the nerve and absolutely LOVED them, and wants to go back and ride some more!  The second part of that story is that I kept my promise and rode a hurley ride, and well...hurled.  Not the best end to a fun day, but still proud of my girlie.
