Snap!
Not very often have I blogged about breaking a nail. In fact, I have never blogged about breaking a nail....until now. My fingernails are very hard and if they break it usually takes a pretty good whack to get them to snap. Yesterday I was reaching for a cupboard door at work and hit my thumb into the cabinet so hard it snapped backwards, breaking about 2 mm below the skin line. I had two students in the room at the time and they both frieked out as the blood started to ooze! Needless to say it hurt pretty bad. (I was going to include a picture, but that is gross...)
Busy Sunday
I thought that Sunday was a day of rest. I guess that it is most of the time but on Sunday I was going from my first meeting at 9:00 a.m. Sunday block from 11:00 to 2:00. I got a new 2nd counselor and secretary today at church and stayed after as my counselor was set apart. Choir practice after that. Home for a few hours to eat and see my family. Spent some time planning the agenda for a presidency meeting. Had a presidency meeting which didn't end until after 9:00 p.m. It was a great day even if it was busy. I am going to miss working so closely with the counselor and secretary that were released, and I am excited to get to know these new sisters a lot better. We have such a wonderful ward and I have some great friends here.

Bloom where you are planted...
JT and Bri got me orchids for my birthday last may. They were both in full bloom and I loved them, but when the blooms died off I assumed they would die and I would have no luck with them. I found some instructions on how to care for them on the internet and have been patiently feeding and caring for them all winter long. A few weeks ago this one bloomed! The other one was root bound and I have repotted it in hopes that it will be healthy, so we will see, it is being difficult!

Craft-fest
I decided it would be fun to help Bri make valentines for her class this year. I found a website that showed how to make colorful shaped crayons out of all the old broken crayons that have been hanging around far too long. It was a really fun project. She is going to stick them to a heart shaped paper and write on it. (You basically cut up the crayons, put them into a pan and melt them for 10 to 15 minutes at 250 degrees...super easy!)

Sunday drive
We dropped JT off at the airport on Sunday and decided it would be fun to drive to Heber and see some of my aunts that I have not visited in far too long. We drove all the way up there and neither of them were home. I left each of them a card and a dishcloth (that I now love making) and we headed back down the canyon. We ended up at my brother Doug's house in West Valley and visited with him and his wife Karen for about two hours. It was a lot of fun, and because he likes me best he gave me the coolest box. He made it from one solid piece of wood...amazing talent...he must have gotten it from ME!

See...he likes me best...just like mom likes me best!

Nothing new...but something old...
I have been having a very boring week. We are just hanging in here, JT was gone a few days last week for work and he is gone again this week for a sales meeting. I have been having fun reconnecting with people of Facebook, so in honor of BIG HAIR and 1989 I dug up a few old pics of me and some of my college roomies. (I had 22 total roomies in college, so this is just a few of them!) I can't believe it has been almost 20 years! Love you guys!

Woo Hoo!
JT called a friend today and explained what happened to our computer and he felt that it was probably the power supply. We took it out tonight and went and bought another one. Lo and behold it works again...and nothing was lost. Needless to say I am going to spend the rest of the evening backing up all of my photos onto CDs. Although, something did happen to my nice big monitor and now I have to use Bri's little one. But apparently she does not need it because she managed to change the password on her computer and forget it, so she cannot use it anyway!

Events of the weekend
Thursday doesn't really count as the weekend, but it is when my "condition" started. After work I lost my voice. It made Friday very interesting as I was on the playground and the kids kept asking the obvious question..."did you lose your voice?" Today is Sunday and I still have no voice, although I can occasionally HONK! Hopefully I can find my voice soon because this is getting old!
On Friday night we went down to the Draper Temple openhouse. It is a beautiful building and it was a wonderful experience to be able to tour the temple with Bri and to feel the Spirit there.
On Saturday morning we got up and helped clean the church building together. When we got home we kept on cleaning and spent about five hours working on our house. Now we have a nice clean house!
This morning my computer was not responding. I mentioned it to JT and when he got home from church he messed around with it and apparently it is fried. Yesterday he hooked up our Wii to be able to go onto the internet, but it is a pain. I am now using JT's work laptop, but he is taking it out of town with him in a few days...I am so sad! My biggest fear is that the hard drive is messed up and I have not backed up all of my photos yet. Just last weekend I spent a few hours backing up pictures and got up to last June. I hope I did not lose them.
I am looking forward to a new week, a fixed computer, and hopefully a voice at some point!
