Goofing around

Bri and I had fun being silly on Sunday afternoon...which is basically what we do every day! We had fun pulling the flowers off of my English Daisies and making finger puppets.

Real Salt Lake

JT got us tickets for a Real Salt Lake Soccer game. I loved when Bri played soccer, but she hasn't done that for a few years now. Recently my only exposure to soccer is all the kids playing "pack ball" at recess every day. They kick each other and get hurt, pick up the ball and start tackling and playing rugby, and are basically little terrors. So I was apprehensive about going to see an actual professional soccer game, but it was really fun. The players have amazing control of the ball and it was really fun to watch.

Student Council Fundraiser

We had a fundraiser where we let the students throw pies at the faculty. It was a lot of fun, and because I am in charge of the student council I volunteered to have pie thrown at me too. We had 13 staff each get two pies in their faces...and I made them all! At least they were chocolate and tasted good! :) It was a big hassle and a lot of preparation, but the kids had a blast...it made it worth it in the end!

After a few years of painful abdominal pains, multiple medicines that did nothing, way too many missed days of school, church, music lessons, etc., multiple abdominal x-rays, specialized diets, an upper and lower GI that showed everything normal...(and her first IV that scared her more than the procedure)...

Allergy testing that was all negative...(more needles...not a good day)...

followed by a gallbladder ultrasound that showed no gallstones...

and a HIDA scan to check her gallbladder function...(and yet another IV)...

we finally found that it is Bri's gallbladder that is not functioning properly and causing her pains. We are glad for the diagnosis and feel blessed to know what the problem is. We now have to wait until Wednesday to find out about the diagnosis and decide what to do. I am hoping that we can just have it removed and let her start feeling better...it has been a long road.
