Sixteen years and counting!

We celebrated our 16th anniversary yesterday. We decided to do more than the usual "dinner and a movie" and added an overnight getaway to Anniversary Inn in Logan.

I have the best husband! We have so much fun together. He works so hard to provide for our family and care for us. He is a wonderful father for Bri and she adores him too. I feel so blessed!

We took the day off on Friday to have a family fun day. We were going to go fishing but decided that was too much prep work, so we ended up going down to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. (They have trout there, we could have combined activities if no one was watching!) Bri had a lot of fun, she is such a happy little girl!

I found a blog that shows how to do cute things with little girls hair, so before we left I started playing with Bri's hair, it turned out pretty cute for a first try! Her hair is so thick that I usually just pull it all back or flat iron it. We are going to try even more fun things, but not today...I'm spent! (We have been out working in the yard...maybe I should clarify...JT has been working in the yard and I have been out in the sun giving support and bringing him tall glasses of ice water and chilled Diet Coke!)

Starting our fun summer

Bri finally got out of school last Friday and on Monday was able to begin swimming lessons. She has been looking forward to this for a month. She is a little fish and after four days in the sun already has a savage tan...thanks to getting her dad's gorgeous skin! She loves to dive and is constantly throwing things down to the bottom of the deep end so that she can retrieve them!

Mickey Horse!

I am sitting here scrapbooking before I settle down for the night. I am really behind and working on our Disney trip three years ago. I have had a song rattling through my head for about 30 minutes and I totally blame my dad...If anyone knows him, he always sings funny songs. Instead of Mickey Mouse he sings...M..I..C..K..E..Y.....H..O..R..S..E.....MICKEY HORSE...!

I just talked to dad a few hours ago to wish him happy fathers day and he told me that he likes me best! I can't help that I am the most loved......(sorry marf, it is the truth!) :)

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to post what a wonderful husband and father JT is for us. He does so much for our family. He is a very hard worker but he is also so much fun. He is silly with Bri, loves to tease me, has a nickname for just about everyone he knows, and if he doesn't call them by their nickname he will give them the last name of someone famous or someone he used to know..."I talked to SCOTT today"..."SCOTT BAIO?"..."Ya....."

I also have a wonderful father and father-in-law. They are men that I love and am so happy are part of my life.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Open House

(To see the slide show look in posts from September 2008)

I was cleaning my house from top to bottom yesterday and decided it would be fun to post pictures of our home. We have been in our new home for just over a year (in May) and have done some repainting and remodeling in a few rooms, we completely redid Bri's room, even the carpet, and the hall bath we painted blue and replaced most everything. The most fun was painting the main rooms upstairs, the big brown wall was blood red when we started and we called it the "brothel wall", the rest of the upstairs was a funky gray color which was not warm and inviting at all. There are still bare walls where we need to pick pictures, shelves, etc. We are next going to repaint the master bedroom, the brown paint is a funky brown/pink color and clashes with everything, even the carpet, and the family room but we can't decide what to do with it yet. It has been fun and we just love being here. The house is the mirror opposite from the one we were in next door, but the basement is all finished and it gives us more usable space instead of being full of boxes and storage.

I am MAKING my sister blog...maybe...

It was my niece Keekin's birthday today and I took Bri over for a party. They are two months apart in age and have so much fun together, along with their other cousin Lexilou who is three years older.

While the kids were playing games and having an exciting time I hauled Marf into the computer and set up her blog. Totally forced her to do it! She is such a busy lady and keeps saying she will do it "next week", but then next week comes and she is still extremely busy. I don't know what could be bogging her down, she only has six children, two grandchildren, a home business, is the 2nd counselor in her relief society, serves on the city council, is on about 4,000 PTA boards and has a dog with a giant cancerous tumor on his bum! She should have plenty of time to sit down and do something unnecessary!

Her blog name is Wonder Mom and it is true...She is a very good mom...I even claim her as my mom every now and again on days when she has no makeup on and I am looking extra youthful! (There was a guy in a store once that asked us if we were related, when we said yes he then stuck his foot in his mouth and asked if we were sisters or mother and daughter...I have teased her ever since!) It is great to have a best friend that is also my sister!

My week has been pretty good, I just need to get my house cleaned and hopefully find the time to work on painting my garage tomorrow...If it warms up enough now that it is JUNE!

Fun field trip

Bri had always been on year-round school schedules since pre-school. This 2007 to 2008 school year we got a new school built near our home and it is a traditional school schedule, but the only thing is that the school was not completed when the school year started. Last summer she went from A track, getting out at the beginning of June, to our revised school year which didn't start until October 1st, that's right...we had a FOUR month summer...WAY too long! Anyway, the reason for this rant is that she is still in school and today I got to go with her grade on a field trip to Salt Lake. They got to tour the Salt Lake City Library, what a cool place! I wish it was closer to us.

We also went to the International Peace Gardens

and Liberty Park for lunch and to get wet in the fountains. It was a chilly day so thankfully Bri did not want to get wet and she and her friend Briana (Bri and Bri) had fun playing at the playground and running around.

We had a really fun day and are looking forward to summer break beginning in another two weeks!
