Crazy mom...

Who's the crazy mom? I AM! I have been very firm in my stance of NO RODENTS at my house. I don't like stinky pets and I don't want something that could potentially get loose and live in my walls. Well, apparently bunnies don't count! JT has a friend with a "farm". He has chickens, horses, turkeys, goats and BUNNIES. He offered us a free cage and a bunny, singular. I relented and Bri was ecstatic. We went over tonight to pick IT up and after talking with said friend, decided that two could keep each other company and keep each other warm in the winter...two bunnies... Yeah, I am crazy.
They are actually very cute and don't get too big when they are full grown. Bri named one Hossenfeffer. The other is "mine" and I think I am going to name it Lilly. JT wanted them to be named Hoss and Feffer, but I don't like names that when one dies the other doesn't make sense, and who wants a bunny named Feffer?!? :)
I am reminded of a post that Marf (my sister) made on her blog about a year ago. Apparently by getting bunnies I am actually adding to my food storage! Check out her post: http://momlikesmebest.blogspot.com/2008/09/whats-for-dinner.html
Smiles just don't get much bigger than that! Ok, maybe I am a good mom too... :)

oh! we had bunnies! they are great pets! and they are almost cute enough to make up for the smell :) Good call on the name/death thing because feffer alone would kind of be unfortunate, but this whole post made me laugh

We had a couple of bunnies growing up because my parents didn't want to get another dog. So my poor brother had a full body harness he would put on the rabbit and leash it up and they were ready to go! I am sure it was pretty funny watching this little kid and a hopping rabbit heading around the block.

wow, I held firm on the NO BUNNIES. I hope Bri and Court don't discuss this too much. I think all bunnies do are eat and poop. Bad Mom!

I don't remember much about the bunny we had, except it seemed to hate life, then died. I hope your experience goes better than that. And good call on the name, I named a pair of fish Robert and Michelle, then one died and I couldn't figure out how to decide which one had died.

I guess we are crazy, too, but we're bunny people and have had two indoor bunnies in the past. We loved them!

Atleast they are cute! I have boys so I had to have an Iguana. (It was actually the EASIEST pet ever, just not snuggly!) Good luck!

You are a good mom! I can't believe you said yes to bunnies though. You are a sucker for Bree's smile. :) Then again, who am I to talk when I stop to think that I have completely lost track of how many pets Gabie has! :)
