Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! Coloring eggs, new outfits, yummy ham dinner, egg hunt, candy and hanging out. Bri recently started voice lessons and her teacher is the choir director. She has encouraged Bri to sing in the choir and she was nervous so I told her that if she wanted to sing I would too...what was I thinking!?! We sang with the choir on Sunday and it wasn't that bad, I even enjoyed it.

SHOES!

JT is back, but while he was gone I told Bri that we could have a "girls day" and we went to see Enchanted at the theater and then we decided we wanted to buy some new summer shoes. In January when we were in Idaho we went shopping and Bri was very excited because she fit into women's shoe sizes for the first time. We bought her a pair of size 5 church shoes. That was only two months ago and last week I had to buy her a size 7!!! It is a touch too big, maybe could have easily fit into a 6-1/2, but I wanted them to fit more than two months! Now she tells everyone she talks to that she wears a size 7... and I cry myself to sleep at night...not because she is potentially going to be tall like me... but she has the possibililty of stealing my shoes someday, and I don't want to share my shoes!

Also during the excursion I got two pair of really cute shoes. I keep telling JT that he has more shoes than me, but I apparently am trying to catch up! (Cheap flip-flops do not count as shoes in the count!)

These are my shoes, not Bri's, although she was wanting a heel like me! (I told her she had to wait at least another five years for that!)

Getting Organized

JT is gone again, back to California for his two weeks of training for his new job. It is hard having him gone. We miss him terribly.

He has been gone for four days and this week I have been tearing the house apart and trying to put it back together again. I don't like to start such big projects when he is home because it is something that doesn't get completed in a day and I hate the mess around. This week has been a good opportunity for me to get my house somewhat organized. We moved in May of last year and since it was only from the house next door I didn't really de-junk when we moved, just carried it all over here! I am probably about 50% done, and since I still have another week before JT gets back, I hope to have everything done by the time he gets home.

I am excited for tomorrow night, my sis and my friend Audrey are going to have "Girls Night". We eat tons of treats and scrap late into the night. Bri is excited too because her cousins get to come over and have a "HALF-A-SLEEP-OVER", which is what we call it if they get to play until late into the night and then go home and sleep in their own beds. We all love girls night!

Sigh of relief?

Well, I got the news about my hands and arms and everything looks fine, there is no nerve damage and doing carpal tunnel surgery again will apparently not correct the problems I am having. So...........................I guess I just need a new job.

Amber made a comment about my big hair.... you ain't seen nothing yet!
(This was taken a LONG time ago, July 1992.....When everyone had big hair!)

My unfounded fears

I have been having a scare lately and last week I went to the doctor and eased my mind. I type medical transcriptions every day for my job. I have been having problems with carpal tunnel, I had release surgery on this 15 years ago, but it has come back again in the last few years with all of my typing. The biggest concern was that I started having a pain in a joint of my hand. This frightened me deeply because my mother was crippled with rheumatoid arthritis and her hands were disfigured and painful to her. The doctor did x-rays and also rheumatoid arthritis testing and also sent me to an orthopedic surgeon for consultation. The RA test was negative, the x-rays showed only very slight arthritic changes and the orthopedic surgeon said the joint pain was tendonitis. I was very relieved. We are now just going to focus on whether the carpal tunnel is bad enough to need surgery again. I will keep you posted.

I wanted to add to this post my favorite picture of me with my mom and my favorite picture of my parents, this was taken around their 50th wedding anniversary. She was such a wonderful woman and I will spend my life trying to be the type of mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend that she was.

JT is in the sun

JT is gone this week for National Sales Meeting for his new job. He gets to spend the week in sunny San Diego and we are here in the snow. The first day he left it snowed and I heard my neighbor outside shoveling so I went out to clear our driveway and she had cleared her own and mine too! (Thanks Amber!) Today it snowed again and I have been too busy to get out and clean it up...maybe tomorrow!

What can fill my bag?

Tonight we are having an enrichment activity where we have to put two things about us into a paper bag, then everyone will see if they can figure out who they belong to. I have spent the last few days trying to figure out what to put in my bag. I asked Bri what she thought and she told me to put a picture of my family, I told her that is the most important thing to me, but that would not keep anyone guessing. I also love to scrapbook, but again, that would not keep anyone guessing either. So I decided to put my camera into my bag, it represents both of those things.

I needed something else for my bag and I wanted to put something that represented my love for Paris and France. I also collect perfume bottles and other small bottles. I started collecting them when I was a child and I just love them. I decided that my other item would be a bottle that I have of the Eiffel Tower. That seemed to combine those two things very well.

I can't wait to go and find out a little bit more about my neighbors and see what fills their bags.

Just can't wait!

Today is my hair appointment. It has been since October since I have had my hair done and it really shows. I have felt this appointment coming for quite some time, I have had my hair pulled back in a pony tail for over a week.

Last night I was trying to get all my typing done so I would not have to stress this morning and one of the tapes that I was rewinding to transcribe broke. It was very stressful, I have been doing this job for seven years and have never had a tape break before, perfect timing.

We also got to get some grocery shopping done last night. We have not done major grocery shopping since before Christmas, it was very needed. I felt like Old Mother Hubbard! Now we are fully stocked and maybe I will actually cook something for my family besides fish sticks and rice or pancakes.....or maybe not!

The other night we had a cake decorating class for relief society and it was so fun. I am totally inspired to make Bri's birthday cake in April. I tried once and it was a dismal failure, but I think that I may just be able to do it this time. Then again, I was also going to bake bread last month after our breadmaking class, but it is just too easy to buy it! Okay, now I have to make a cake and bake bread.....after I find the time.....
